Book a 2-hour Private Glassblowing Experience for 2 people at our studio in Saint John. Curtis Dionne will demonstrate how to make a long-stem flower, an optical paperweight, and a blown drinking glass! Take home what you make, plus the 3 demonstration pieces as our gift to you.
We've hosted over 100 private glassblowing classes in our first year! Currently we only schedule classes on Saturdays, we will open Fridays up for bookings this summer. Our Experience is designed for 2 people (but you are welcome to come alone). Please contact us if you would like to schedule a 3+ person group.
Keep long hair tied back. Do not wear loose fitting clothing or jewellery that hang off the body. Wear cotton or natural fibre clothing. Do not wear open-toed or open-heeled footwear in the glass studio. We recommend bringing sunglasses for beginners, as it helps your eyes to adjust to the glass level inside the furnace.
We invite children to watch glassblowing from behind our visitor railing at our workshop anytime we're working, however our private glassblowing experience is designed for ages 14+
There are no known risks that we know of, please use your own judgement. Charlotte has blown glass while pregnant with no ill side effects. We recommend everyone eats a meal and is well hydrated before coming to the studio.
Yes, we charge an extra $175 per-person and schedule and extra 30 minutes onto the class.
We have hosted several team-building workshops and even a bridal party including 14 ladies. Please contact us to schedule your group workshop.
We don't deviate from the outline because the succession you make the items is designed to teach you the necessary skills to advance to the blown drinking glass. After learning a foundation some students have returned for a second or third lesson, to expand upon what they have already learned.
